IF YOU LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL PROP TUTORIAL

THIS AIN'T FOR YOU.

I'd say this tutorial is for people who don't want to spend hella money on supplies and fancy goodies so xD

HERE'S A CHEAP WAY TO MAKE A D.VA GUN

(Actually idk how much it costs BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE MUCH)

(I Also really suck at making tutorials so pls forgive me.)

WHAT YOU NEED

I'll put where I got them on the side in parenthesis c:

❤ Eva Foam (Lowes)

❤ Crafts Foam (Dollar Store)

❤ Box Cutter (Lowes)

❤ Patching Plaster (Walmart)

❤ Mod Podge (Walmart)

❤ Unwanted necklace/chain

❤ Useless Marker you don't care about

❤ Quarter Machine Capsule

❤ Scissors

❤ A Pen and Paints

Ok so this is what you're getting yourself into:

(Lmao I told you it wasn't pro xD)

But it'll probably look better if you do it cause my craft skills are -F.

As awful as this looks, I'm still a total noob at making props so I'm quite proud of it ;v;

Cause it coulda looked worse, especially with my skills..

I basically followed KamuiCosplay's tutorial, but she's much more pro than me and had access to things I didn't have, so I had to downgraded the tutorial xD

Most of what you need to do is in the video

WHAT I DID DIFFERENTLY:

♥ She printed out the blueprints for the gun multiple times and cut out the main pieces to be cut onto the EVA foam. I don't own a printer, so what I did was I found a blueprint of the gun online and traced the parts she had cut out from her paper over my screen on a paper.

If you don't like the size feel free to look up more D.va Gun blueprints and pick one out that you like!

Be sure the blueprint on the screen is the actual size you want it to be in person.

♥ She had a dremel tool, I just used sandpaper, which will take more work and won't look as clean but for the price of sandpaper, PLS.

My cousin said it was okay to use a electrical nail buffer as well and it isn't pricey at all so you can give that a try too!

♥ She got that fancy glue and I just used elmers xD

The Patching Plaster will make it more sturdy in the end so don't worry about the finishing product falling apart.

♥ OK SO THIS PART WAS PRETTTYY RATCHET FOR ME.

Instead of making the Barrel with a PVC pipe and foam like her... I DIDN'T HAVE THE PIPE, Nor did I have the dremel to make the foam look more clean if I were to use do that method.

SO. I LOOKED AROUND MY ROOM AND BAM. I took that quarter machine capsule and placed it there and it was perfect to me.

As for the barrel beneath it, I just cut a marker cap in half and placed it in, PERFECTION AS WELL.

♥ Before I painted the gun, I wiped on the Patching Plaster and filled in the gaps and smoothed imperfections it had. If your gun is uneven anywhere, add some plaster! My gun looked like CHIT when I finished making the base. But bless Patching Plaster! Let that dry, and sometimes the Patching Plaster will crack so feel free to do a second layer.

♥ After it dries, I cover it in Mod Podge for it to be more secure

♥ I got an old necklace and cut it to the size I wanted for the bunny charm to hang off my gun,

I used Mod Podge to glue it on.

♥ After all that, go ahead and paint it c:

After painting, I went ahead and glazed it.

I think that is all!

I'm probably leaving some steps out... But if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment! c:

If you actually do try to make the D.va Gun in my ratchet modifications, I'd love to see how they turned out for you! ;v;

I will be cosplaying D.va's bodysuit sometime soon!

Thank you to RoleCosplay for the cosplay!

I'll place the link here when it comes out!

Thank you so much for spending your time to read this crappy post and I hope you have a nice day!
